Issued in December of 1924 this set of stamps commemorated 300 years of postal service in Denmark. These 12 stamps were issued as 3 se-tenant blocks. Pictured on them are the portraits of the two Danish Monarchs Christian IV and Christian X, each facing left and right at different times. The face values are 10 ore, 15 ore and 20 ore. Each respective face value has it’s own color. The 10 ore are green, the 15 ore are violet and the 20 ore are dark brown.
As far as the individuals depicted on the stamps, Christian IV lived in the late 16th and early 17th centuries and reigned 59 years. Christian X, was the reigning king at the time this set was issued. He remained in power until 1947.
In the current Steiner Stamp album for Denmark, there are only places for the 3 blocks that were printed. I decided to create spaces for each individual stamp. Simply click the link to view and download a printable PDF of the page.
